The high-profile 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held in Beijing from October 18 to 24 this year. On October 25, the first plenary meeting of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China elected a new leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping at its core. At the meeting between members of the new Standing Committee of Political Bureau and Chinese & foreign journalists, General Secretary Xi Jinping clarified the development direction of China in the next five years and proposed the coordinates of the work of the whole party in the next five years.
